Established in 1999 in response to the health crisis caused by HIV/AIDS, unemployment, and the 1997/1998 El-Niño rains, DHAMIRA MOJA CBO has evolved from a Youth Group to a registered Community Based Organization (CBO).
Operating within Busia County at the Kenya-Uganda Border town of Busia, we have been dedicated to addressing gender inequalities and uplifting marginalized communities since our inception.
Welcome to DHAMIRA MOJA CBO, an organization committed to creating a society where all individuals, regardless of gender, can live free from suffering and injustice. Our initiatives focus on education, health, economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and advocating for good governance and social accountability.
We believe in dismantling systems of oppression that perpetuate inequality. By empowering girls, women, the youth, and marginalized individuals, we strive to create a more just and inclusive society where everyone can thrive.
We believe in creating lasting change by working with local communities to identify needs and develop solutions that are culturally appropriate and environmentally sustainable.
To provide structural and sustainable support and services to alleviate poverty and improve the standard of living for all community members, especially women, orphans, youth, and marginalized individuals.
A society free of mankind's suffering and injustices.
To promote sustainable livelihoods and empower girls, women, the youth, orphans, and marginalized individuals in Busia County to overcome gender-based barriers and discrimination, enabling them to live healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.
How we create sustainable change.
